The Nobel Tablecloth – A Masterpiece of Swedish Design Craftsmanship. The Nobel tablecloth is one of Klässbols Linneväveri’s most iconic products and the centerpiece of every Nobel banquet. Every year, this exclusive linen tablecloth adorns the tables at the prestigious Nobel Prize banquet, along with the exquisite Nobel napkins. The Nobel tablecloth is part of the “Nobel en magnifik servis,” which was awarded the Utmärkt Svensk Form design prize in 1992.
The Nobel dinner service, also part of the setting, was specifically created to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Nobel Prize in 1991. It was inaugurated by Their Majesties the King and Queen during the grand banquet in the Blue Hall at Stockholm City Hall.
At Klässbols Linneväveri, we weave the Nobel tablecloth and napkins using traditional techniques with a modern design. The elegant checkered pattern is highlighted by the way light reflects differently on the warp and weft surfaces. The classic Nobel napkins measure 70×70 cm and are woven in damask with fine linen yarn, which subtly highlights the Nobel emblem in one corner of the napkin.
Our Nobel collection has also expanded with a satin napkin in the size 50×50 cm, available in sand and white. Discover the entire Nobel collection here. If you require longer tablecloths than those listed, feel free to contact us – we are happy to assist you.
