The furniture fabric collection Norrland was awarded the ELLE Interior Design Award and the Swedish Design Award 2006.

Background: The low-key pattern character of Norrland creates uniform colors from a distance, but when you get closer, new patterns form. The different structures highlight line in warp and weft effects. And the irregular nature of the linen thread creates life on the surface of the fabric. “I have been inspired by Norrland’s hardy nature and its graphic character,” says Lena, who herself grew up in Västerbotten. “From the whitest snow to the darkest winter night. The graphically mottled mountains. Plough furrows and field patches. The tracks in the snow. The black and white trunk of the birch. The brown and black bark of the pine. The sand-colored autumn fields and the yellow-beige sand.”
