In conjunction with Arvika100th anniversary, Arvika Municipality, together with Klässbols linneväveri, is launching a new collection by local designer Hanna Smedberg-Haglund this year. The collection consists of a runner and a towel in four different color schemes, one of which is exclusively designed for Arvika Municipality. The pattern is inspired by Arvika's city plan à la 1811 with its characteristic grid system, square blocks, straight streets and right-angled street corners. At that time, it was easy and cheap to build the city – only 2,666 riksdaler and 32 skilling – because "the land was barely cultivable, there were only four low huts". 96 plots were divided and streets and squares could be planned according to the desired grid system. So when you get off the train at the railway station in Arvika and step out onto the square, you step straight into Hanna Smedberg's runner. "I was very happy when Hans Stahl from Klässbols called and asked if I could design the pattern. To be able to work together with Klässbols and especially to do something for Arvika, it feels really great." - Hanna Smedberg-Haglund
