Washing and care instructions
Linen textiles should be washed at 60° C, but difficult stains may require a higher temperature, but not higher than 80° C. Linen is a durable and hard-wearing material and, best of all, a good choice for the environment. Always expect a shrinkage of around 5-7% when washing new linen for the first time.
A fine linen fabric that is properly treated has a high, beautiful shine and a cool, smooth surface.
Advantages of linen:
- Line's ability to absorb water makes it an unrivaled material.
- You don't need to wash linen products as often as other materials.
- It is a natural, durable and sustainable material.
- A good choice for the environment!
CARE ADVICE
1. Soaking
Place the new linen in lukewarm water for about 20-30 minutes before washing to avoid creases, but also to contribute to more water in the washing machine. Washing a larger cloth - soak for 1-2 hours so that the fibers become really soft .
2. Detergent
We recommend color-safe detergent for all our textiles or detergent without bleach. Got a stain? Treat stains as soon as possible! We recommend using gall soap and linseed oil soap, which are effective and environmentally friendly, feel free to try both. Read more about stain removal a little further down.
3. Water-rich program
All new linen releases excess fibers at the beginning that need to be rinsed out in the wash. Set the washing machine to the program with the most generous amount of water. Do not wash with the eco program as it is water-saving. Add an extra rinse if possible to ensure that excess fibers are removed with the wastewater. It is advisable to clean the fluff filter before washing.
Wash at 60° C degrees and wash the linen separately and not with other materials as it can fluff excess fibers. If you have a difficult stain that requires a higher temperature, you can increase the temperature, but never above 80° C as line can then lose its elasticity, shine and strength.
4. Dry – spinning and tumble drying
When spinning, only use low speed ( 400-800 ), remove spinning completely if possible. At high speeds, the fibers can break, which causes the quality to deteriorate and more excess fibers to be created. When the laundry is finished, clear the door of the washing machine of any fluff.
We do not recommend tumble drying . Bath towels are the product that you can tumble dry if desired.
Drying your linen:
Hang dry the linen after washing. Natural-colored and colored linen should not be dried in strong sunlight. Also avoid placing wet linen textiles on top of each other, rather let them lie rolled up, damp before mangling or ironing.
5. Ironing & mangling
Stretch the damp linen after washing and hang to dry. Iron or iron well damp on three spots on the iron. If you have a cold iron, iron the linen several times to achieve maximum shine.
Do you have a stain?
Don't wait to start the treatment, start right away. We recommend using gall soap and linseed oil soap, which are effective and environmentally friendly, feel free to try both.
Red wine – stains from red wine, berries or root vegetables are treated by pouring boiling water through the stain while someone gently rubs with fingers wearing a rubber glove or a sponge.
Stains from blood and eggs are treated with cold water and gall soap or linseed oil soap. We sell both linseed oil soap and gall soap here.

Regarding our popular collection of BADA bath towels:
Wash at 60° C and separately . Do not wash with eco program. Extra rinsing is recommended as linen releases fibers in the first few washes so that the excess is carried out into the wastewater. It is important to clean the filter in the door of the washing machine from any fluff. Tumble drying is recommended for best results.
