Heaven and Hell by Wanja Djanaieff
The product series Himmel och Helvete was developed by prominent textile designer Wanja Djanaieff in collaboration with Svensk Slöjd and was presented by Vanja herself as follows: "To freely interpret life in the form of strong symbols such as Adam and Eve, unicorns, birds, angels, devils, and more on damask, following folk art, is like bringing two cultural heritages together into one.
"Heaven and Hell" is thus a damask story in a modern style that affirms our roots."

Wanja Djanaief worked at Almedahls in 1960-70 and created, for example, Swan, one of the earliest naive patterns. She has also been Head of NK Designgrupp, formerly NK's Textile Chamber, in 1970-77; designed the pattern Coffee Table in 1972. Designed clothes for the participants in the 1974 Olympics. Head of the Strömma textile factory in Norrköping in 1977-80 where the first collection, I folkviseton, meant a new start for the company. Partner in the Swedish Design Agency in 1977-80 together with Kerstin Boulogner, Aino Östergren and Boel Matzner. Project manager and teacher at Konstfack in 1980-88; professor 1988-92. Made scenography and costumes for productions by Peter Oskarsson in Järvsö and costumes for the Folkteatern in Gothenburg as well as exhibitions, e.g. Textil omtanke.
