"Dalahästpattern has been a much-appreciated pattern that was born in 1995. It all started when I made gingerbread cookies with my daughter and then saw a graphic pattern in the dough after effectively punching out the cookie cutter."
The special thing about the pattern is that each horse is unique. And since 1995 the pattern has adorned cushions, table runners, potholders, kitchen aprons, towels and fabric by the metre. In 1995, Jeanette contacted Ljungbergs Textil, who quickly became very interested in the pattern. What was perceived as groundbreaking was that the figures were placed “huller om buller”, something that had not been seen on the market before. Different color schemes were printed by hand on the fabric. The pattern also made an appearance as fabric by the metre at Svensk Tenn, where it was proudly displayed in all shop windows during its launch year. Carl Malmsten's store also produced larger trays with the pattern.
After Ljungberg's bankruptcy, Frösö Handtryck contacted Jeanette and obtained the rights to the pattern, and in 2015 the pattern was taken over by Klässbols Linneväveri. To weave the pattern, the original stencils from 1995 were scanned and production began. Frösö Handtryck also broadened the scope of use for the pattern by introducing it on a variety of new products such as toiletry bags and bags, which further testifies to its versatility and timeless popularity.
