Design: Kristina Stark.

Kristina Stark is a designer educated at Konstfackskolan in Stockholm and at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London and has been working with design for both external clients and her own brand for many years.

She is driven by the desire to design everyday objects created for frequent use; everyday objects and completely ordinary and ordinary things that people use often and that make life a little easier. Things that work and are durable for the wear and tear of the hand and eye, made of natural, honest materials that age with dignity and beauty.

She does not seek effects, but the simple and low-key; she strips away and eliminates to find the essence of a thing – what remains when all that is superfluous has been removed.

Everything must be questioned in order to have a justification. Why do things look the way they do? Seeing and working with what you have around you, the everyday, that's what interests her – that very, very ordinary thing.

To feel genuine happiness over the seemingly small and simple things in life.

ABOUT HANK

As simple as it gets. A kitchen towel is all about function, and exists for one reason only – to be used. Every day, multiple times a day.

The name Hank is taken from the important hook, or hanger, that plays the main role here; the hook that holds the towel on the hook and makes it accessible – always close at hand. It is a small, but incredibly important detail that Kristina has given its own value by making it a design element in itself, and in this way creating the shape of the towel; the hook that is highlighted by two woven vertical lines that tie the two hooks together.

In all its simplicity.
