Astri sjösala linen napkin is designed by Astri Bergman-Taube. Linnéa Matilda Taube (born Bergman) saw the light of day in 1898 and grew up in Stockholm as the oldest child in a sibling crowd of four. Her father ran his own foundry and his own exhibition hall. She came early in contact early with many of the artists of the time. After the French school, she attended the Technical School, Sigrid Blomberg’s school of sculpture and Caleb and Carl Wilhelmson’s painting schools. Astri was married to the poet and artist Evert Taube and became the mother of architect Per-Evert, Rosemarie, Ellinor and Sven-Bertil Taube. Astri worked primarily as a painter, graphic artist and sculptor. She died in 1980 in the Maria Magdalena parish in Stockholm.
