Lena and Jennie visits Klässbol
April 6, 10 am to 4 pm (10.00 – 16.00) we get a fine visit to the shop and weaving mill in Klässbol by Lena Bergström and Jennie Adén. Bellow is some information about who they are.
Lena Bergström is one of Klässbol’s most popular and most engaged designers. You know for sure the pillow series ”Norrland“, BADA-collection, the curtains Milli, Centi och Deci, and now most recently Demi och ”den nya färgvälden” to name a few. But she not only works with textiles and her CV can be very long as she also work with other hight brands such as Orrefors, Kosta Boda and Design House Stockholm to name a few.
You can meet Lena at Klässbol where she shows a number of glass products for Orrefors and Kosta Boda, and the products is for sale and she gladly signs them. You can also buy these selected glass products throughout the summer in Klässbols for temporary promotional prices.
Orrefors about Lena:
Lena Bergström is a successful designer of both textiles and glass. She has received numerous public commissions and has won Excellent Swedish Design awards for six of her glass collections. Lena received her artistic education at the College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. She became captivated by glass and has been af liated to Orrefors since 1994. She has an unerring sense of design; her work, soft of line yet graphically eloquent, represents a new generation of expression.
This day, Lena has been joined by Svensk Tenn’s latest Design Awarded Jennie Adén. Jennie is considered one of Sweden’s largest design promises and originally comes with topsoil in the pockets from Sölje. Read about her at Kurbits webpage. Jennie did Beckamn’s internship at Klässbols where she among other things designed the towels Säter and Haga, which will be on set this day.
Jennie about Jennie:
By “digging where I stand” I want to highlight the local opportunities and materials that exist in a small area. I am driven by working with the entire design process, from the processing of raw materials to the design and manufacture of products, I often use raw materials from and around Sölje, where I have a strong personal connection. Sölje is on the other side of Glafsfjorden from Klässbol.
In 2018, I graduated from the Product Design at Beckmans College of Design. Throughout my life I have been interested in textiles and in my design I often work with weaving, felting and dyeing. I am inspired by historical craftsmanship in combination with today’s needs, resources and techniques. We humans must relate to a more sustainable lifestyle and consumption habits, so with Klässbols Linneväveri high quality and local production are the choice obvious.
