The collaboration with Danish Hanne Vedel continues and we are now launching table runners, towels and napkins named after her grandchildren.
Choose the right size for the tablecloth
We usually add 60 cm in addition to the table’s length and 60 cm extra on the width.
The width of the table + 25 cm hanging on each side was long + shrinkage. The cloth shrinks 5-7% in washing for the first time and you should therefore include that in the extra dimensions.
A table that is 100 x 200 needs a cloth that is 160 x 260 to be on the safe side.
This is at least a kind of “standard calculation” to relate to and in that tables can have different shapes (such as having rounded corners), it is often a matter of taste how big the suspension should be. If the table has rounded corners, you take a shorter cloth, otherwise it will be too much in the corners. A larger table also usually requires a larger canvas with more hangings.
