For Josefin, weaving is about communicating the unique qualities and origins of different materials and creating high function and long service life.
Josefin is a swedish weaver based London. Her practise is highly influenced by the characteristics of the material. She is currently exploring the diversity of cellulose fibres from trees in her interior product range. A lot of her work is inspired by her Scandinavian heritage. She excessively strives to use sustainable materials and processes in her practice. She has done sustainable design research for TED – Textiles Environment Design at University of the Arts London. A winner of the Cockpit Arts/Clothworkers’ Foundation Award 2014.
“Klässbols genuine preserving of the craft and the Scandinavian heritage attracted me to do an internship during the summer of 2010. It was then, in the little cottage at the Glafsfjorden, I created the design Tittut.”
